Kelly is happy to create special commissioned pieces. This began with her popular pet portraits and has grown to include other subject matter. Most commissions involve animals and people, but Kelly is open to all ideas. One note about her people: Kelly paints people in a loose, impressionist style with the goal of achieving a loose resemblance of the subject. When she includes people in her paintings she prefers a view that focuses more on the figure and not the face. Her people are more about form, and definitely are not meant to be portraits…browse her work to see what we mean.
The commission process is easy and simple: We recommend browsing her art to get a feel for her style and picking one or more works that represent the feel of what you have in mind. Next, gather some photos/references and jot down some notes to help Kelly understand what you have in mind. The more detail you provide the better. Once you are ready, just pick a size and add the item to your cart (click on pricing/order icon below) & checkout. You will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to submit your photos/notes to Kelly. After Kelly receives them, she will call you to go over the project. Typically these projects take about 1 month.
